My Famous Hot Wing Recipe

Many friends and family ask about the recipe for my hot wings, so….. Here it is!!

Ingredients:

  • Fresh Chicken Wings – Not frozen, it really does make a difference.
  • Frank’s Red Hot Sauce
  • Celery Salt
  • Worcestershire Sauce
  • Fresh ground black pepper
  • Margarine
  • Peanut Oil

Directions:

Pat dry the chicken wings, and set aside.  Get oil heated to around 375 – 400 degrees.  Fry wings “naked” (no batter)  until crispy brown.  I go about 15 minutes per batch of 12. Hot Wings

Mix Frank’s with Margarine – about 3 to 1.  Simmer lightly in saucepan- just to melt together.  Add about a teaspoon of celery salt.  Add a few dashes of worcestershire sauce.  Black pepper to taste.

In large mixing bowl, toss wings with sauce until coated.

If you are looking for some real burners – add tabasco or powdered red pepper.  If you’re brave enough, get some habenero sauce.

Serve with Chunky Blue cheese dressing – the kind you get over in the fresh salad sections of the grocery store.   Put some celery out along with the blue cheese to help get out the burn.  Having a cold beverage handy is a must.

  1. Great recipe. I added some Scorned Woman hot sauce, and they were scorchers.

    Thanks
